Description from the seller
Spinosaurus - Fossil tooth of a predatory dinosaur
This fossil tooth is attributed to Spinosaurus aegyptiacus, one of the most extraordinary dinosaurs ever discovered. It lived about 95 million years ago in the vast river plains that today correspond to Morocco and North Africa.
Unlike other large terrestrial predators, Spinosaurus was specialized for aquatic life. Its long snout, crocodile-like, was armed with dozens of conical teeth like this one, perfect for grabbing large fish and other prey that inhabited the ancient waterways of the Cretaceous. These teeth were not designed to slice flesh, but to firmly hold slippery animals and prevent them from escaping.
The specimen preserves the streamlined shape characteristic of the species, with a splendid natural fossilization that testifies to a journey lasting millions of years, from the banks of an ancient African river to the present day.
Owning a Spinosaurus tooth means entering into contact with one of the most iconic animals in Earth's history: a gigantic semi-aquatic predator that dominated ecosystems long before the appearance of humans.
Characteristics:
Species: Spinosaurus aegyptiacus
Era: Late Cretaceous (Cenomanian)
Age: about 95 million years
Authentic and natural fossil
Excellent aesthetic presence and strong collecting value
ps. The dinosaur model possibly present in some photographs has exclusively illustrative and descriptive value, solely to provide a visual reference and contextualize the specimen. It is not part of the lot for sale :)
