KLM Special - Palace on the Dam (Honeymoon edition) - Transition model ca. 1987/1988 - Rare
Description
Offered: a beautiful and highly sought-after KLM miniature of the Royal Palace Amsterdam. This concerns the exclusive 'Honeymoon version' that, from 1986, was issued in very limited quantities to newlywed couples in KLM Royal Class.
This specific piece is an official transition model from the period 1987-1988. This is immediately recognizable by the unique combination of the early base stamp and the specific painting of the tower. A top item for the serious KLM- and Delft Blue collectors.
Unique features of this lot: Base stamp: Equipped with the early logo with BOLS in thick, bold uppercase letters ("blue Delft's made for Bols distilleries Holland"). Painting: The octagonal tower on the roof has the characteristic transition painting style: 6 windows are blue-painted, 2 windows are 'blinded' (left white).
Back: Equipped with the authentic closed crown above the KLM logo.
Condition report:
Porcelain condition: Excellent. The miniature is completely undamaged. No chips, no cracks and no restorations.
Contents:
The house is empty
Closure: The original cork is still fully present in the neck.
