Vintage ceramic cachepot in the shape of a camel, Hollywood Regency, Made in Italy c. 1960–1970
Special vintage ceramic cachepot in the shape of a reclining camel, manufactured in Italy and marked "Made in Italy" on the bottom. This decorative plant holder probably dates from the 1960s–1970s and is a fine example of the Hollywood Regency style, in which exotic animal figures and sculptural forms were popular decorative elements.
The cachepot is made of white glazed ceramic and is characterized by refined modeling with close attention to the anatomical details of the camel. Owing to its sculptural form, the object is not only functional as a cachepot but also a striking decorative piece for a classical, vintage, or eclectic interior.
Condition
The cachepot is in good vintage condition for its age. The glaze shows natural crazing and normal signs of use. There are a few small glaze chips and a small expertly reset chip. These signs of wear are clearly visible in the photos and do not detract from the decorative appeal of the piece.
