Description from the seller

Portrait of a noblewoman in a ruff from the turn of the 16th/17th century. According to art historians, the origin is Italian or Spanish. The coat of arms as well as the woman remain to be identified further. A collectible and rarely encountered item on the antique market. A very interesting exhibit that would adorn a home living room, an office, or even an art gallery or museum.

The frame is from a later period and is a free addition to the portrait.

Dimensions with frame: height 67 cm, width 55 cm
Dimensions without frame: height 57 cm, width 45 cm

Technique: oil on canvas, visible age-related craquelure and partial retouches to the face found during UV lamp examination.
