Beautiful geometrically shaped design vase by Jan van der Vaart, made in white glazed ceramic and produced by Makkum Linea. This sculptural design with two openings is a characteristic example of Van der Vaart's timeless vocabulary, where clean geometry, balance and functionality come together in a unique way.

The vase is both a high-quality design object and an autonomous work of art, and makes a striking focal point in a modern, minimalist or mid-century interior.

The underside is marked: Makkum Linea – design Jan van der Vaart – Made in Holland.

Condition
The vase is in very good condition. On the underside there is a small chip, completely out of sight when the vase is displayed. See the photos for a good impression of the condition.

About Jan van der Vaart

Jan van der Vaart (1931–2000) is regarded as one of the most important Dutch ceramic artists of the 20th century. He is considered a founder of the geometric-abstract movement within post-war Dutch ceramics. His designs are distinguished by their clear lines, perfect proportions and timeless appearance.

His work is included in the collections of leading museums, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam. In addition, his work is held in numerous important private collections.

This vase offers a wonderful opportunity to add an authentic design by an internationally acclaimed Dutch designer to a collection.
