Set of 6 glasses from the Kekkerit series (factory code 2105), designed by the famous Finnish designer Timo Sarpaneva for the Iittala glassworks.
This collection debuted in the early 1970s (mainly produced 1973–1986) and is distinguished by an organic, rough texture resembling melting ice or tree bark and a distinctive, bulbous form perched on a thick, sturdy stem.
The name Kekkerit in Finnish simply means "party" or "gathering". Key information about the collection: Designer: Timo Sarpaneva (one of the most important Finnish modernism creators).
Manufacturer: Iittala (Finland). Technique: Glass formed by blowing into a rotational mold, which gives each piece a unique texture.
