The warm amber and rosé tones of the translucent material lend the figure an almost luminous presence. The outstretched arm is an integral part of the original mould, not a subsequent addition (see artist' confirmation). Of all the figures produced in this early series, this exemplar belongs to the more elegant formations — its silhouette prompted an immediate association with a Gothic Madonna, which led to its acquisition and its title, confirmed by the artists themselves.
