Herman Miller - Charles & Ray Eames - Armchair - Fibreglass

Icon of 20th-century design, this DAX chair (Dining Height Armchair X-Base) was designed by Charles & Ray Eames and released by Herman Miller / Vitra between the 1960s and 1970s.

The shell is made of real molded fiberglass in the original color, Light Ochre, a warm hue that is today particularly sought after by Mid-Century Modern furniture enthusiasts. It rests on its original X-Base pedestal, preserved in very good condition, with a uniform black finish and only very light signs of wear.

The various markings present allow this production to be placed among the earliest European editions:

- Thermoformed “V” mark under the shell.
- Shock mounts marked “H”.
- Shell, fastenings and pedestal all original.

The chair has not undergone any major restoration or replacement of parts. The fiberglass is in very good preserved condition, with no cracks or breaks. It shows only a few light signs of use, minuscule superficial scratches, and a beautiful natural patina, entirely consistent with its age.

This chair is an iconic piece of American design, ideal both for a modernist interior and for a collection dedicated to Charles & Ray Eames.
