Impressive Voodoo fetish from Benin. It is a two-faced figure. It has a troubling presence. The artist who created this work managed to breathe life into it. It is a inhabited fetish. One of the faces is intimidating, its expression is hard, its gaze is menacing. The other face is stranger, it bears a wide enigmatic smile, you can sense madness in its eyes. The stance is upright, proud and full of strength. The fetish is surrounded by magical charges, padlocks, bottles, ropes, duck skulls… On one face you can see two holes, the places of activation of the fetish’s powers. The patina is rich, a mix of various offerings, blood, alcohol… An object of ancient and authentic Voodoo cult. Circa 1950.
