Description from the seller
Elegant French Louis Philippe Lady's Chair – Walnut – Original Hand-Woven Rush Seat – Circa 1830–1860
Beschrijving
An elegant and authentic French Louis Philippe lady's chair, handcrafted in solid walnut and dating to approximately 1830–1860.
This refined chair features the characteristic flowing crest rail, elegantly shaped back supports, turned front legs and a traditional hand-woven rush seat. The warm patina has developed naturally over nearly two centuries and gives the chair a beautiful, untouched appearance.
The chair remains structurally sound. The original rush seat is still intact and usable, although it has sagged slightly over time, which is consistent with its age and decades of careful use. The frame shows honest wear, small inactive wormholes and minor age-related marks, all contributing to its authenticity and character.
A charming decorative piece, equally suitable for a country house, farmhouse interior or French antique collection.
