Antique Architectural ornament - 1850-1900 - Chinese panel 45 cm

Antique Chinese openworked wooden relief panel from the second half of the 19th century. Richly carved with a traditional scene of mandarins, riders, pavilions and pine trees. Originally gilded and with a red back.

Such panels originally formed part of richly decorated interiors, such as altars, screens, furniture or temple architecture.

Because of its large size of 45 cm and the very refined, deep carving technique, this is a particularly decorative and rare piece.
