An indispensable piece for your interior decor
Celestine derives from the Latin term « coelestis » meaning « heavenly ». It is more commonly translated as “sky blue.” In 1789, shortly after its discovery, German mineralogist Abraham Gottlob Werner gave this crystal its name, its reflections resembling a sky bathed in light.
Its color, of great softness, has earned it the nickname “Stone of the Angels.” According to legend, it was born from the pure and hypnotic song of angels. It is also associated with the constellation Pleiades, regarded as the spiritual cradle of humanity.
Numerous synonyms are linked to it, among which celestite, cliftonite, dioxynite, sicilianite, or strontian sulfate.
