Description from the seller
Bengt Karl Erik Lindström was one of Sweden's best-known contemporary artists, with a distinctive style of varied colors, often with distorted faces. The style is strongly linked to that of the CoBrA group, of which Lindström was not a member. He is often referred to as a CoBrA-style artist.
Lindström was born in 1925 in Storsjö kapell, Härjedalen, Sweden. In 1944 he moved to Stockholm to study with the Swedish painter Isaac Grünewald. In 1948 he moved to Paris, where he studied with the French painters André Lhote and Fernand Léger. He remained in France in Savigny sur Orge for the rest of his artistic career.
