The Bugatti Myth on the Wrist: History and Design. I present at auction a rare and fascinating vintage Bugatti timepiece from the "Ellipse / Driver" line, a quartz movement model marketed mainly around the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s.

This iconic timepiece belongs to the famous and exclusive series of celebratory pieces distributed in conjunction with the rebirth of the historic automotive brand and the legendary debut of the Bugatti EB110 supercar. The watch design is a continuous homage to the world of engines of the era: the oval/elliptical stainless steel case is adorned with a beautiful two-tone bezel with gold-plated screws, while the spectacular integrated bracelet in satin and polished steel explicitly evokes the links and geometry of a high-performance timing chain like the original.

Dial: Ivory/White background with black Arabic numerals and date window at 6 o’clock. At 12 o’clock sits the legendary and unmistakable red oval Bugatti emblem. Case and Bracelet: Solid stainless steel with yellow-gold plated finishes and details (Two-Tone Style).Origin: Inscription "France" on the dial back, indicating refined manufacture and assembly of the case and components.

The watch is presented in good vintage conservational condition and is perfectly functioning in all its components, keeping good time and date jump. Removed from the wrist, it proves to be an exceptional collectible piece with strong aesthetic impact.

For maximum commercial transparency with bidders, a few tiny and physiological vintage-era characteristics are noted (clearly visible in the photo gallery): Close inspection reveals the dial shows some very light and natural signs of age. This is a common feature in light-colored dials of this vintage series, which does not impair readability or decorative charm, but testifies to its absolute period originality. The bracelet is equipped with a two-part safety clasp. It should be noted that, rarely, one side may open if not pressed firmly; anyway I recommend a tiny and simple micro-tightening of the clip by a watchmaker to restore the original tension. The watch comes with an elegant and solid wooden protective box. For full disclosure, I specify that since I am not an expert and inherited it, I cannot be certain the Bugatti box is original or coeval with the watch, but it is included as an excellent and valuable protective case for the lot.

Regarding the case diameter, I used a ruler and it reads 30 mm.
