Large seated Guanyin Bodhisattva statue, made of white glazed porcelain in the Blanc de Chine / Dehua style. The figure depicts Guanyin seated on a lotus base, holding a vase / lotus element, symbolising compassion and the sprinkling of merciful water upon the world.

Condition:
Fair condition with visible signs of age and use. The hand area has been damaged and reattached/repaired. There are visible hairline cracks, crazing in the glaze, minor discoloration, age-related marks and some old repair traces, as shown clearly in the photos. The statue remains decorative and suitable for display.

Provenance:
Purchased in Hong Kong in the 1990s and later brought to the Netherlands.
