Description from the seller

Name / Brand: Omega Automatic

Movement: Automatic mechanical, Calibre 562

Year of production: 1966

Case reference: 162.025

Country of origin: Switzerland

Style: Dress / Vintage Elegant Classic

Description of the specimen: Geometric elegance of the 60s
As can be seen, this Omega specimen is a perfect example of the sophistication and the avant-garde design that the Swiss firm dominated in the mid-1960s. Moving away from the classic round case, this model opts for an attractive square geometry with subtle curves, known in collecting circles as a cushion case, that embraces the wrist with a unique distinction.

Dial and Presence:
The dial presents a gorgeous and clean cream tone that harmonizes perfectly with the minimalist hour markers and the slender baton hands. It is worth noting that the dial has been meticulously repainted, a restoration job that manages to recover the clean aesthetics and the original essence of the watch without losing an ounce of its elegance. At 3 o’clock sits the date window, framed with distinction, offering impeccable legibility without breaking the harmony of the piece. The set is completed with a stainless steel milanese mesh bracelet that enhances its retro and sophisticated character.

Case and Brand Identity:
When removing the back case, the engraved reverse is revealed. It shows the iconic triangle of the brand with the inscription Omega Watch Co., the Swiss authenticity seal Fab. Suisse / Swiss Made, the exact model reference (162.025) and the case producer mark (CB), guaranteeing origin and original manufacture in high-quality stainless steel.

The Heart of the Piece (Calibre 562):
This watch is powered by the legendary Omega Calibre 562, a 24-jewel automatic movement with a superb copper finish, characteristic of the finest movements of the brand’s golden age. The serial number 23.864.782 engraved on the bridge dates the manufacture of this Swiss engineering jewel to around 1966. Equipped with an adjustable swan neck regulator for micrometer precision adjustment, this calibre is revered by watchmakers for its robustness, its smooth winding and its excellent reliability over time.

Conclusion:
This Omega Ref. 162.025 is much more than a watch; it is a testament to the golden era of Swiss mechanical watchmaking. The combination of its distinctive geometric case, an eternally elegant dial, and a top-tier in-house automatic movement make it a coveted collectible piece, ideal for everyday wear or for special occasions.
