PAN Ceramic Pendant Light & Scheurich 549-21 Vase – West Germany Ceramic Ensemble – 1970s
Original West German ceramic ensemble from the 1970s, comprising a PAN ceramic pendant light and an original Scheurich ceramic vase (Model 549-21, height 21 cm).
The pendant light bears the original PAN maker label on the inside of the lampshade, confirming its authenticity. The Scheurich vase also carries the original manufacturer label as well as the bottom mark 549-21 – West Germany.
Both pieces come from the heyday of West German ceramic production and impress with their harmoniously coordinated brown, ochre, and green tones and their characteristic speckled glaze. Together they form a high-quality and decorative Mid-Century ensemble.
The PAN pendant light features a distinctive brown-beige glaze and a decoratively pierced lower edge that creates an atmospheric light display when illuminated. The light includes the original ceramic ceiling canopy and an E27 socket.
The Scheurich vase complements the pendant light with its classic form and color-matched glaze, underscoring the characteristic style of West German ceramics from the 1970s.
This ensemble is excellent for collectors of West German ceramics as well as lovers of Mid-Century design, Brutalism, and vintage interiors.
Condition
Both pieces are in very good vintage condition for their age, with minor signs of wear. No visible cracks or chips in the ceramics. The original wiring of the pendant light is present; due to age, a check before prolonged use is recommended. Please assess the condition from the photos, as they are part of the description.
