The Sony E 16mm f/2.8 (SEL16F28) is a pancake wide-angle prime announced in June 2010 as one of the first lenses for Sony's then-new NEX E-mount mirrorless system. Designed for APS-C sensors, it gives a 24mm-equivalent field of view in an extremely slim, lightweight body that complements compact bodies. The optical formula uses five elements, one of them aspherical, to keep the lens flat while controlling aberrations. It accepts optional wide-angle and fisheye converters and remains a popular everyday walk-around and street-photography optic.
