The SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/2 and 28mm f/2.8 are compact manual-focus primes from Pentaxs M series, introduced in the late 1970s alongside Pentaxs downsized ME and MX film SLR bodies. Both use the native Pentax K bayonet mount and carry Pentaxs SMC (Super Multi Coating). As a pair they cover a useful standard and moderate-wide range in small, lightweight all-metal barrels. They remain popular for adaptation to modern mirrorless cameras via inexpensive K-mount adapters, and are well regarded as well-built, good-value compact primes. Mount & Compatibility This is a native Pentax K-mount manual-focus lens (e.g. SMC Pentax / Pentax-M series). It works on Pentax K-mount film SLRs and, with stop-down or supported metering, on Pentax DSLRs that accept K-mount lenses. On mirrorless it can be used with a simple Pentax-K adapter. Important — please read carefully: Both lenses have some internal dust (please see the photos); this is common for age and typically has little effect on images. Both focus and stop down correctly.
