Set of 5 damask linen towels with hand embroidery and fringes – Early 1900s

Splendid and elegant set of 5 vintage towels in pure linen, from a bridal trousseau dating to the early 1900s (Italy, Sicily). The pieces are kept in perfect condition: washed but never used, with no stains, yellowing, or signs of wear.
Main features:
• Fabric: 100% fine white damask linen, characterized by a refined textured weave with a geometric zigzag pattern.
• Dimensions: 110 x 60 cm each (fringes excluded).
• Finishes: Edges decorated with rich, interwoven and hand-knotted fringes.
• Embroidery: Stunning motifs hand-embroidered in cross-stitch. The back of the embroidery is perfectly clean and linear, testament to the extremely high level of craftsmanship.
Composition of the lot (5 pieces):
• 4 Towels: Feature embroidery on one end (size 34 x 10 cm). The motifs are floral and vegetal, all different from each other, rendered in vivid vintage tones of red, green, light blue, and yellow.
• 1 Parade towel: Features a mirrored embroidery on both ends (size 33 x 7 cm each). The motif is floral-geometric in pink tones, framed by elegant yellow borders. This piece shows a subtle and natural shading at one point, a light sign of aging that attests to its historical authenticity.
