Description from the seller
Stratoforma — Sculptural Vessel (Unique Piece)
Natural clay gradient sculptural vessel by Ionela Bellato.
A study of movement shaped through earth.
Part of the Stratoforma collection, this monumental vessel explores how geometry and material can evolve together. Rather than applying colour onto the surface, naturally coloured clay bodies are gradually merged during the forming process, allowing the chromatic transition to emerge from the material itself.
Every shift in tone records the meeting of different clays. Cream, warm terracotta and grey earth flow into one another without interruption, creating a landscape that recalls geological strata, mineral sedimentation and atmospheric horizons. The colour is not decoration. It is the material revealing its own history.
Its twisting architecture transforms the vessel into a play of light and shadow. As the eye moves around the piece, deep helical grooves continuously reshape the perception of volume, while the finely layered surface preserves the rhythm of its construction. The object appears almost carved by natural forces rather than manufactured, balancing precision with the quiet unpredictability of earth.
Each work is produced individually through a slow, carefully controlled extrusion process and extensively hand-finished. Because the material transition depends entirely on the interaction between naturally coloured clay bodies, every vessel develops its own unique stratification and can never be replicated.
A unique piece. Hand signed by the artist.
