Large bronze rhyton with winged horse, an Amlash culture piece from the early 1st millennium B.C., 24.8 cm long, in excellent/intact condition, original/authentic with a Certificate of Authenticity, provenance from the United Kingdom and acquired in 2018 from a gallery/antique dealer, worldwide shipping by Registered Mail.
Description from the seller
Large conical rhyton, curving and ending in the shape of a winged horse with pointed ears, deeply carved almond shaped eyes, fine details of the face, mane and wings, standing on two frontal hooves and a trumpet shaped foot at the back. Two loop handles to its sides. Very nice green patina. Exquisite.
Size: 24.8 cm L - 9 3/4 inches
Material: Bronze
Culture: Amlash, c. Early 1st Millennium B.C.
Condition: Intact
Provenance: Previously property of a British gentleman, acquired on the London art market before 2000.
