Overmantel mirror - Wood - Louis XVI mirror

Elegant large oval wall mirror executed in Louis XVI style, dating from circa 1900. The mirror is made of carved wood with gesso and an original gilded finish. The richly decorated pediment with acanthus leaves and floral motifs, the pearl trim and the finely worked ornaments give the mirror a classical and stately appearance.

The mirror is in good antique condition with normal signs of use, wear to the gilding, and slight craquelure, appropriate to its age. The back reveals the original wooden plank construction.

A particularly decorative object that fits excellently in both a classic and a contemporary interior.
