Description from the seller
Gustav Becker wall clock – Germany, ca. 1950s
This Gustav Becker wall clock dates from around the 1950s and comes from my private collection.
It is fitted with its original mechanical movement, bearing the Gustav Becker trademark. The clock strikes the hours and half-hours on a double wire gong with a clear and pleasant sound.
At the time of listing, the movement is in good working order, and both the timekeeping and striking functions operate correctly. As with all vintage mechanical clocks, minor adjustment after transport may be required.
The wooden case has a simple mid-century design with a warm dark finish. It is fitted with a 20 cm (7.9 in) metal dial with its original hands and a brass pendulum visible through the bevelled lower glass panel.
Condition
Good vintage condition with signs of age and use consistent with its age.
The dial has a visible mark near the numeral 11. The lower glass panel has a discreet repaired crack, covered by a narrow vertical wooden strip. These details are visible in the photographs.
Overall, the clock presents well and remains an attractive and honest example of a mid-20th-century Gustav Becker wall clock.
Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description and accurately show the overall condition of the clock.
The clock will be carefully packed and securely shipped.
