Vintage Murano Glass Centerpiece Basket with Flowers and Graniglia – 1950s
Enchanting centerpiece basket with a handle in precious Murano artistic glass, completely worked by hand (hot-worked) and dating from the 1950s. The flared main body features a refined ribbed finish in transparent glass, enriched by the inclusion of colored glass graniglia that creates exceptional plays of light.
The piece is embellished with an elegant and slender aquamarine-green handle. On the sides of the handle are elegant pink glass flower appliqués, handmade and voluted, adorned with leaves and gold leaf inclusions in the flower’s central button. The upper edge fades gently toward light green and ends with seven decorative relief lines all around. The base, visually striking, is composed of eight pink three-dimensional leaves raised about 3 cm to support the basket. On the bottom the separation of the pontello (blowing rod) is clearly visible to the touch, an absolute guarantee of authenticity and Muranese artisanal craftsmanship of the era.
