[Story]
Introduced by Kyocera in 1994, the Contax RX was built to bring out the full character of Zeiss optics through a shooting experience that feels natural and precise. Its die-cast light alloy chassis, wrapped in brass covers, gives the camera a solid, purposeful weight in the hand from the very first touch.

Look through the viewfinder and the Digital Focus Indicator quietly guides your eye, adding a quiet tension to the ritual of manual focusing. The electronically controlled shutter offers speeds up to 1/4000 sec, with exposure modes spanning full Program AE to complete manual control.

Turn the dial. Feel for focus. Release the shutter. Decades later, the Contax RX still invites its user back into the simple, deliberate act of taking a photograph.

As with many cameras of its era, the built-in data back can only be set as far as 2019 — a small reminder that this camera has already lived through one full era of photography, and is ready for another.
