RARE & AUTHENTIC: Meissen Porcelain Coffee Service – 1st Choice
Description:
Magnificent set in fine porcelain from the prestigious German manufacturer Meissen, nicknamed the “White Gold.” This duo includes a tall coffee pot and its matching milk jug.
Model: “Neuer Ausschnitt” (New Cut / New Aperture), iconic form created in the 18th century.
Decoration: Entirely hand-painted (“Bunte Blume”). Naturalistic floral decoration of great finesse featuring a violet and yellow iris, as well as garden flowers and crocus.
Exceptional detail: The coffee pot lid is adorned with a sculpted, relief yellow rose button, a high-quality signature of the manufactory.
Markings and Authenticity:
Signature: Two crossed swords in cobalt blue underglaze.
Quality: 1st Choice (no grinding marks on the swords).
Dating: 1934 – 1945.
Traceability: Recessed model number (173) and hand-painted painter’s number in red (126).
Condition:
Exceptional. The porcelain is radiant, the colors are vivid, and the reliefs (notably the rose on the lid) are perfectly preserved.
