Description from the seller

Pulcinella, an ancient mask belonging to the Commedia dell'Arte, made following Neapolitan tradition—head, hands, feet, and the triccheballacche in wood—is a typical percussion instrument of the Campanian popular tradition. It consists of three wooden mallets joined in a frame. The side ones are rhythmically struck against the central one, producing a dry and vibrant sound. Painted in polychromy, it features a movable jointed mannequin body in iron, with era fabric, Neapolitan craftsmanship from the mid-20th century, crafted plastically in a bust form within Neapolitan tarantella contexts. It is a full-round sculpture resting on interlock via a monoblock wooden base, which attests to the craftsmanship; there are signs of age, all visible from the photos. The dimensions with the base are height 31 cm, width 12 cm, thickness 12 cm. A very precious frieze sculpture; secure, reliable shipment, well packed with polystyrene, tissue paper, and double-wall corrugated cardboard.
