Origin: Afghanistan (Herat area / Mushwani tribal craftsmanship).

Purchase era: Purchased locally between 2002 and 2003.

Material: 100% wool (warp and weft).

Estimated size: Approximately 130 x 190 cm (including fringes).

Estimated weight: Approximately 5-7 kg (the Sumak technique makes it heavier than a regular kilim).

Condition: Excellent, see attached photos.

The rug features the classic geometric and zoomorphic motifs of the Mushwani tradition, with a very robust and compact structure.
