Original TAM TAM stool designed by Henry Massonnet, in good used condition with minor signs of age and stains, blue plastic, 45 cm high with a 30 cm seat diameter, made in France.
Description from the seller
Iconic original TAM TAM stool from the era (the '70s), a true cult of Space Age design and French Pop culture.
Designed in 1968 by the famous French designer and industrialist Henry Massonnet (awarded the Gold Medal of the Académie d'Architecture and the Silver Medal at the Brussels World Fair) for his company STAMP, this model represents a piece of mid-century modern history, exhibited in the permanent collections of MoMA in New York and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
Born originally as a lightweight seat for fishermen, it became a legendary global success after being celebrated by Brigitte Bardot in her Saint-Tropez home.
Inside it features the characteristic raised mark "Tam Tam - Marque et Modèle déposé" that certifies its authenticity and original historic manufacture.
Color: original deep blue of the first model (glossy/flat finish of the era).
Dimensions: Height 45 cm | Seat diameter 30 cm.
The stool is structurally sound, solid, with no cracks or breaks in the plastic. Being an original piece with over fifty years of history, it shows the normal and fascinating patina of time, with light surface marks and usage scratches consistent with its age (visible in photos).
