GENERAL
Volkswagen Beetle 1500 from model year 1967, a beloved and increasingly rare edition among Volkswagen collectors.
Model year 1967 is worldwide regarded as a true "One Year Only" model. Volkswagen introduced a large number of changes in this year that were applied to only one model year.
As a result, the 1967 Beetle possesses a unique combination of early and later features not found on other production years.
Precisely these exclusive details make the 1967 edition particularly cherished by collectors and internationally regarded as one of the most interesting classic Beetles.
This Beetle also features the desirable 1500 edition.
Factory-equipped with the powerful 1500 cc flat-four engine, a longer gear ratio in the transmission, and drum brakes at the rear? (Note: In Dutch it says schijfremmen aan de voorzijde – therefore front disc brakes.) These technical improvements provide a noticeably more comfortable driving experience compared to the standard 1200- and 1300-editions.
Although it is a model year 1967, the car was first registered in 1968.
This happened more often at the time and is not unusual.
The car comes from Finland and now has a Dutch registration.
An honest and attractive classic that forms an excellent basis for both the collector and the enthusiast who likes to enjoy one of the most distinctive Beetle editions.
BODYWORK & PAINT
The bodywork presents fairly neatly.
The paint has been touched up at various places in the past and partially repainted. As a result, a few cosmetic points exist around the car that a future owner may choose to further perfect or perhaps have completely repainted in the future.
The underside of the car is in good condition. The spare-wheel well is also particularly well preserved, an important point of attention with classic Volkswagens and a nice indicator of the body condition.
MECHANICAL
The original 1500 cc air-cooled flat-four engine provides pleasing performance and makes this edition clearly more powerful than the smaller engine variants.
The car starts well, drives nicely, shifts smoothly and stops as it should. Thanks to the longer transmission, this Beetle cruises comfortably in modern traffic, while the front disc brakes provide extra safety and improved braking performance.
The combination of the powerful engine, the modified transmission and the improved brakes makes the 1500 edition one of the most pleasant-to-drive classic Beetles from the 1960s.
INTERIOR
The interior suits the honest character of the car and offers the authentic atmosphere that belongs to a classic Volkswagen Beetle.
Dashboard, upholstery and other interior details form a well-kept whole, but of course show some signs of use.
An interior in which the classic Beetle vibe remains fully preserved.

An increasingly hard-to-find Volkswagen Beetle 1500 from the coveted model year 1967. Thanks to the unique "One Year Only" features, the powerful 1500 cc engine, front disc brakes and the longer transmission, this is a particularly interesting classic for the true Volkswagen enthusiast. An honest car with great potential, attractively priced and ready for a new owner.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
