Figure of a Moba ancestor. These sculptures, nicknamed the 'African aliens' for their strange carving, symbolize the aura of the ancestor, without identifying features, just as the tribe's initiates define the image of the apparitions. Raised in burial grounds, some facing each other seem to establish a new society of 'ghosts'. Moreover, the contemporary view of these sculptures offers us a simplicity of avant-garde execution worthy of study. Height: 84 cm.
