Protective figure - Teke - DR Congo (No reserve price)

This protective figure used in the Bateke community of the DR Congo is often used used during important gatherings, funerals or wedding ceremonies and contain magic elements for example the leather pouch on the belly or the feathers and twigs on the side of the body. The face is finely carved with lineair scarifications.
Over the body a leather cape is draped containing magic properties. Height: 41 cm.
