Jan Kelderman (1914–1990) was a Dutch impressionist painter from Edam, best known for his atmospheric cityscapes, landscapes, and flower still lifes. As a self-taught artist, he developed a recognizable painting style with a rich color palette. Kelderman was exceptionally productive and created thousands of works, which he sold personally across the Netherlands in an innovative way. His accessible style and entrepreneurial spirit made him popular with private collectors, although official recognition by museums remained elusive. He lived and worked mainly in Amsterdam, where he died in 1990.
