Description from the seller

Exclusive & extremely rare Mid-Century Atomic Espresso Machine – Brass & Bakelite – Made in Italy (c. 1950s/60s)

Item description
For sale is an extraordinarily rare, hardly findable electric espresso machine from the era of Italian Mid-Century design (Space Age / Atomic Age). This luxurious collectible impresses with its sculptural form and the striking material mix of high-gloss brass and deep-black Bakelite.

Due to its limited production and exclusive distribution, this model is today an absolute rarity on the antique and design market and is offered for purchase only very rarely. According to historical documents (see contemporary Kaufmann’s department store advertising in the US), these exclusive models were imported at the time as “Magnifico! Lacquered Brass Espresso Coffee Maker from Rome.” A true highlight with real rarity value for design lovers, coffee collectors, and enthusiasts of the 1950s and 1960s.

Product details & technical data
• Origin: Made in Italy (Rome / Italy)
• Rarity status: museum-worthy collectible, extremely rare market penetration.
• Capacity: 6 cups (embossed “6” on the underside / 6-cup demitasse-size)
• Material: housing made of lacquered brass; ergonomically ribbed, heat-insulating handle made of original black Bakelite.
• Voltage/electric: 110/120 Volt (produced for the US market). Equipped with the original textile-insulated power cord and a US plug.

Condition
• Exterior: Very good, authentic vintage condition with a beautiful, age-appropriate patina on the brass surfaces. No major damage or deep dents visible. The Bakelite handle is solid and undamaged.
• Technical (Important note): The device has not been tested! Since it is a historic electrical device with a operating voltage of 110/120V, no function test was performed on European 230V power networks. The sale is expressly as a pure decorative object, collectible, and in a “not tested” condition. Before any potential operation in the European area, a corresponding voltage transformer is required, as well as a professional electrical inspection by an expert is strongly advised.

───

Included in delivery
• 1x Original Italian brass espresso machine (rarity)
• 1x Original accompanying textile power cable (US plug)
(If desired: printout of the historical advertisement from Kaufmann’s as provenance)

This exclusion does not apply to claims for damages arising from gross negligence or willful misconduct by the seller, nor to any injury to life, body, or health.
