Set of 2 antique wooden stone moulds (brick moulds) with metal fittings, dating to circa 1900–1910, made in the Netherlands, in good used condition with small signs of age and spots.
Description from the seller
Set of 2 antique wooden stone molds / brick molds with metal fittings – circa 1900–1950
Object description
Characteristic set consisting of two antique wooden stone molds (brick molds), executed in a robust artisanal style. These molds were used for forming bricks from clay and today form desirable decorative objects because of their authentic industrial appearance.
The first mold features eight forming compartments and is equipped with heavy metal fittings around the edges. These fittings served to protect the wood during intensive use. An integrated handle is located on the front.
The second mold also has eight forming compartments and features a beautifully shaped wooden handle. Both objects show clear signs of use, giving them a characterful look with a nicely worn patina.
These original stone molds are highly suitable as decorative interior objects and can be used, for example, as a wall rack, display, herb box, or storage object within an industrial, country, or rustic interior.
Coming from a private inheritance.
