Description from the seller

Large collection of antique and vintage pewter pepper and salt shakers (11 pieces) – Western Europe – 18th to 20th century
Object description

Beautiful and varied collection of 11 antique and vintage pewter pepper and salt shakers, originating from various West European pewter workshops. The collection shows the development of pewtering from the 18th to the 20th century, with both early hand-cast models and later turned examples.

Several shakers bear original pewter marks, including the well-known crowned rosette mark and a crowned quality mark with the letter 'F'. Two cylindrical shakers carry the same base mark and form a matching pair.

The different shapes, sizes and finishes give the lot a particularly decorative and collectible character.
