Jordi Curós Ventura (Olot, Girona, 1930 - Barcelona, 2017) Painter and printmaker.
Born in Olot in 1930, after an initial artistic training at the School of Arts in his hometown, he worked in the religious imagery workshops of Olot El Arte Cristiano. In the early 1950s, a restless group of artists from Girona constituted the Indika collective, one of the country’s first avant-garde groups. In 1954 he obtained a scholarship from the Institut Français of Barcelona to study in Paris. Upon his return he settled permanently in Barcelona. In 1958, the Barcelona City Council granted him another scholarship to further his studies in Paris. This marks the informalist period, which he abandoned in the mid-1960s, coinciding with his entry into the Parés gallery in Barcelona, giving way to a more figurative painting, a style in which he remained thereafter.
