This Rolleiflex 2.8F (Model K7F), with serial number 2430909 visible in the image, was produced between 1960 and 1965.
Here are some production period details for this model:
Production start: December 1960.
Serial characteristics: The serial numbers for this early variant (K7F) range from 2,400,000 to about 2,441,999. Yours at 2,430,909 falls toward the end of this first production batch.
Model context: The 2.8F series is considered one of the best twin-lens reflex cameras ever made and remained in production, through various evolutions, until 1981.
The model in the photo is fitted with a Carl Zeiss Planar 80mm f/2.8 lens and features an integrated selenium exposure meter.
Top lens (viewfinder): It is a Heidosmat 1:2.8/80 with serial number 883198. This lens serves to project the image onto the upper waist-level viewfinder for focusing and framing.
Bottom lens (taking lens): It is a prestigious Carl Zeiss Planar 1:2.8 f=80mm (the inscription "Carl Zeiss" and "Planar" is visible along the lower edge of the lens). This is the lens that actually exposes the film.
