Silvered metal globe made by Christofle on the occasion of the new year 1999, at the threshold of the Third Millennium.
The work depicts the Earth with reliefs that evoke continents and oceans, and is supported by a modern geometric base. On the lower side appears the commemorative inscription:
“Tous mes vœux pour 1999 avec ce globe terrestre”
accompanied by the autograph signature and the official Christofle France punch.
A symbolic object, conceived as a special celebratory edition, testifying to the ability of the French house – founded in Paris in 1830 – to unite decorative art, contemporary design and historical memory.
