Ernemann Heag VI Zwei-Verschluß loopbodemcamera, in very good condition and tested and working.
Description from the seller
Antique Ernemann Heag VI (ca. 1910) 'Zwei-Verschluß' with red bellows, Koilos shutter, Lacour-Berthiot lens – Including rare Ernemann 12-plate magazine change
Description:
Offered is a splendid, very complete, and mechanically fascinating centerpiece for the discerning collector of antique photography: an Ernemann Heag VI 'Zwei-Verschlußkamera' (double-shutter camera) from the early 20th century. This specific lot stands out not only for the high-quality optics but also for the presence of a highly sought-after and original Ernemann accessory.
The camera features the iconic deep red leather bellows that beautifully contrast with the warm mahogany and the chrome/ brass details of the bed/track mechanism.
Unique technical features & extras:
• Zwei-Verschluß System: Luxury version with two independent shutters: the central Koilos shutter at the front and a built-in slit shutter (focal plane) in the rear housing.
• Koilos shutter: An early, sought-after aluminum shutter with the characteristic mechanical engravings on the front.
• Lacour-Berthiot Lens: Equipped with high-quality French optics from the renowned maker Berthiot, a valuable upgrade over the lenses typically mounted at the time.
• Including Ernemann Magazine Exchange: This lot is supplied complete with the original, matching Ernemann plate-changing magazine with a capacity for 12 film/ glass plates. A fantastic and scarce accessory that is rarely offered together with the camera! [1]
Condition of the object:
• Cosmetic: In very good vintage condition. The woodwork is sound, the black leather on the body shows only light, age-related signs. The red bellows visually are in excellent condition and have retained their deep color well (see photos).
• Optical & Mechanical front: The bed slides smoothly over the guide rails. The lens is optically tidy. No scratches, fungus, or haze.
• Status of the focal-plane shutter (Important note): The internal focal-plane shutter in the rear housing currently does not function. The mechanism and the curtain appear to be fully present inside the housing, but as is very common with this specific model and its age, the internal ribbons have worn over time. A recognizable and honest aging feature that does not detract from the historical value for a collector or display piece.
An absolute eye-catcher in any display cabinet and a historically important, very complete ensemble from the early history of large-format photography.
Specifications:

• Model: Heag VI (Zwei-Verschlußkamera)
• Type: Bed / Plate camera [1.1, 1.2]
• Lens: Lacour-Berthiot
