Wulfenite from Union Mine, Mežica (Miess), Slovenia

wonderful piece of tabular, yolk-yellow coloured Wulfenite. This sharp-edged and blocky Wulfenite from a disused mine is a classic! Old Slovenian Wulfenites really set the standard in old mineralogy, and in European collecting of lead minerals in particular, for a long time. Today, most people are familiar with the great Wulfenites from Arizona, Mexico, and China, and have forgotten that Slovenia actually produced Wulfenites that could rank among the world´s top locales.
