Description from the seller
Cadillac Series 62 Sedan of 1947
BODYWORK AND CHASSIS:
Pastel blue color,
The body is very solid and free of rust because the car has spent much of its life in Louisiana.
The paintwork is very good and free of orange peel; the dark blue color is original and I believe it was repainted many years ago. There are small signs of wear which I have highlighted one by one in the photos; anyway, it is a beautiful and shiny car.
No rust on the car.
The chassis is pristine (see photos) and there is no filler or accident-related repair.
The body is also very solid with no underbody coating.
The rubber parts such as seals are all in good condition.
Also the glass has no chips or scratches.
The chrome trims are all really excellent, shiny and without oxidation.
No unusual welds or repairs after any visible accident.
The body is very solid and not covered with undercoating or filler.
The chrome trims are really very nice, with no oxidation or dents and very shiny.
Even the window and handle chrome trims are superb as in the photos.
MECHANICS:
Six years ago the car underwent important mechanical work:
- Engine rebuilt
- Seals and rubber parts replaced
- Rubber bushings/parts for the chassis replaced
- Carburetor rebuilt
- Tires replaced with cross-ply, corded tires with threaded design
- Brakes rebuilt
For this reason the car runs very well and starts reliably when hot or cold and does not smoke in any way.
All rubber parts of the engine and the body were replaced 6 years ago and are therefore in excellent condition.
The shock absorbers have also been replaced recently and work properly.
There are no evident oil leaks as visible in the photos taken under the engine.
The automatic transmission works as expected for a car of almost 80 years, good but not comparable to newer cars; between first and second gear it can be a bit harsh, but it has no problems.
The brakes work very well, the car stops straight and the stopping distances are correct.
The exhaust system is in excellent condition.
There are no exhaust or chassis noises.
The suspension works well.
The car brakes well and tracks true even during braking.
Mechanically the car runs really well, starts without problems hot or cold, idles smoothly on all eight cylinders, the engine is very quiet and strong.
You can already use it for rallies or pleasure drives.
The car is shod with tires and inspected and drives very well without overheating or operational uncertainty.
Electrical system is 6V, therefore original; fully functional except for radio and wipers.
Headlights, tail lights and turn signals fully functional.
The car is inspected and therefore has all the parameters needed for immediate use.
This is a beautiful 80-year-old car that is usable right away.
INTERIORS:
The interior is preserved superbly with velvets and burl woods perfectly in order.
The carpeting is very beautiful and well kept, not worn or stained.
The headliner is nice, not stained and without holes or tears.
The dashboard is beautiful in every aspect.
The door panels are straight and very well preserved.
The interior reflects Cadillac’s philosophy of comfort and spaciousness.
When you get into this car you immediately feel luxury and space.
The interior is also clean and free of bad odors.
DOCUMENTATION:
Regular Italian documents.
Valid inspection.
Registered with ASI, the Italian historic car register.
The ASI registration proves that the car is original in all aspects and has its engine and is born in this splendid configuration.
Original car in engine and interior and body in a splendid pastel blue.
The car is usable immediately, but we remind everyone that it is a vehicle of almost 80 years and thus it is normal to expect different road behavior and driving compared to a modern car.
PICKUP:
Visible and collectible in Camino al Tagliamento, Italy.
For cars over 10 years old we cannot guarantee the real mileage.
For foreign buyers: +€300 for deregistration of the vehicle.
For Italian buyers: +€300 for the transfer of ownership.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
