EXCEPTIONALLY WITHOUT RESERVATION!
Large liturgical chalice, made between the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, finely chased and richly decorated with relief motifs of Baroque and Rococo taste.
The object features an inner gilded cup (very probably more recent and made in gilded brass) and an outer structure in silver-plated metal, entirely hand-chased with an extraordinary richness of details.
The cup is adorned with an elaborate frieze with putti faces, floral motifs and vegetal scrolls, while the shaft depicts a central mascaron with plastic decorations of notable quality.
The base, wide and shaped, is embellished with cartouches, ornamental motifs and relief figures such as images of Our Lord Jesus and the Madonna, giving the whole a monumental and extremely scenographic appearance.
On the bottom there are hallmarks of the period attesting period, material and much more... they certainly deserve to be studied! visible in the photograph.
