In 1952 Le Corbusier built on the coast of the French Riviera the 'Cabanon': the ultimate example of a minimalist lifestyle. The project, executed according to the rules of the Modulor, lies a stone's throw from the sea and served the architect in his later years as a refuge.

The Lampe Cabanon, named after this inspiring microcosm, stands as a symbol for architecture, design, production and an essential life. The lampshade, made from the tracing paper that the architect used, is crafted from a war artefact – a mounting frame for mortar shells – that was found on French beaches.
