Description from the seller

Leica M3 DS Dual Dial (Safari repainted)

Matte finish

This Leica M3 rangefinder camera has been repainted in the Kanto region.

Serial number: 911295
Unique piece, this artisanal work has been done by a professional lacquerer. The original chroming of each component has been removed, then several coats of paint were applied (in homage to the Safari limited edition), to finally achieve a matte olive green finish. This artisanal, meticulous and refined manufacturing process guarantees durability and prevents oxidation and chipping. As everyone knows, the piano-lacquer finish of Leica cameras is a complex and demanding process. Over time, a natural bronze hue will appear, giving this camera a unique and remarkable aesthetic.

The camera is in excellent condition, in perfect working order, with an immaculate finish and appearance. All components have been tested; the body is in excellent condition and the shutter speed is precise. The viewfinder, cared for by Leica, is bright and sharp, and focusing with the yellow dot is fast and precise!

The lens is a Summicron 50/2 Rigid (first generation). It has also been repainted edition Safari; the superficial chrome layer has been removed, while the brass of the mount has been preserved. The result is fantastic: the paint is immaculate, as-new, the lens is in excellent condition, the coating is perfect, the lenses are clean, all functions are operational and the image is sharp and vivid—with an original Leica lens cap and UVa filter.

All functions have been rigorously tested and work perfectly!
