■ Overview

This is the SMC PENTAX ZOOM 1:4 45-125mm (Serial: 5057628) manufactured by ASAHI OPT. CO., JAPAN, originally released in the 1970s.
Known for its excellent Super Multi-Coating (SMC) and versatile zoom range, this classic lens delivers beautiful colors and sharp contrast. It can be easily adapted to modern mirrorless cameras (like Sony E-mount) with an appropriate, inexpensive adapter.

■ Condition

・Appearance: EXCELLENT / Near Mint Vintage Condition.

In my personal opinion, the cosmetic condition looks almost perfect with no noticeable scratches.
However, please kindly understand that it is a vintage used item, so it may have microscopic signs of age.
Please carefully review the attached photos to check the exact cosmetic condition.

・Optics: Clean & Practical.

No fungus.
No haze.
There is some visible dust inside.
However, I have practically tested this lens on a digital mirrorless camera (Sony NEX-3) with an adapter, and I can confirm that this dust does NOT affect the final images at all.

・Functional: Good Working Order.

The helicoid (focus ring) moves smoothly without any issues.
The push-pull zoom mechanism moves up and down perfectly and smoothly.
The aperture ring works perfectly and smoothly.
The aperture blades are clean, snappy, and work perfectly.
