Walter Mesquita "Walter3dart" - Popy n° 3 "Chrysalide"

An artwork born from the meeting of clay and acrylic capable of retaining within it the memory of a movement.
Unlike a classical canvas which remains flat and frozen, this work simulates the absorption of energy and gesture at the very moment the color touches the material, as if the latter were reacting to the impact of the paint.
In this piece I wanted to simulate the exact instant of the explosion, a shock wave frozen before it spreads.
This is not a work you look at flat; it is a fragment of suspended movement, a material that keeps within it the memory of the very creation of movement.

End of 2024, something in me went out of kilter. Connections that stir without warning, intense sensations, diffuse pains, dizziness that erupts without warning. An inner chaos that I could not control.
It is in this imbalance that creation imposed itself on me. I needed a language that does not go through words.
Abstract sculpture became this language. Each relief, each flash of color, each tormented material is an attempt to translate what is at play inside, an invisible, raw energy, sometimes violent, that I finally make tangible between my hands.
