The IS5021 offers a broad range of intuitive tools to improve the sound of older recordings (tapes and vinyl). Among these tools is stereo enhancement, which allows converting a mono recording to stereo (phase-decorrelation), stereo spatial processing, which widens or narrows the sound image, as well as noise reduction and scratch suppression filters.
These features, combined with the digital-to-analog converter and the QNI interface, enable recording professionals to achieve higher-quality digital recordings and transfer them onto analog cassette for markedly improved quality, especially for portable listening.
Audio post-production:
field recordings with most common portable DAT recorders can now be edited to offer higher resolution and richer sound, with significantly reduced jitter distortion.
