IMPORTANT LOT OF 25 ANTIQUE DINNER PLATES - VERMEREN-COCHÉ, IXELLES (BELGIUM) FINE FAIENCE - LATE 19th CENTURY
Description
This lot comprises 25 antique flat plates, perfectly identical, coming from an important dining set of over 200 pieces.
The plates feature an elegant Belle Époque-style decoration consisting of a broad emerald-green rim enriched with rich gilding, framing a finely ornamented central motif. The ensemble testifies to a high level of craftsmanship typical of Belgian productions from the late 19th century.
Under each plate is handwritten inscription “Vermeren-Coché – Ixelles,” linked to the historic Ixelles (Brussels) manufacture, renowned for productions destined for grand houses and banquets.
